This might help some of you - I put a burnt CD into my wife's 2004 s40T5 (I do it all the time, but this time I had too much information on it). The CD wouldnt read, just spinning around etc, then it wouldnt eject either. I cant get it out.

The service guys tell me that it is not a warranty job, because the CD is burnt and they have had problems with them. They will have to strip down the console etc to get the unit and the CD out. Strewth, what a nuisance!

I have tried taking the fuse out and restarting it, but no good. There isnt a little "reset" button as some other units have.

If anyone has any ideas, let me know (it is booked in for repair next Wednesday, but my wife is looking daggers at me because she is stuck with the radio...sorry beautiful!). Otherwise, this might serve as a caution for others.

It's prolly stuck due to thickness variations... instead of whether it was 'burnt' from PC or factory....

try pulling the battery to reset it. if that doesnt work, call volvo themselves, and be nice but firm.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Unfortunately, disconnecting the battery doesnt work, and I have been using the same brand of blank disk for ages with no trouble (TDK) - unless they have changed the thickness on the newer ones.

I'll see how I go with Volvo next week, and weather the storm with my missus in the meantime...
