Bought a 2002 S60 T S Auto three weeks ago. Very pleased with car until yesterday when the keyless remote wouldn't unlock car. Used the car in the driver's door to unlock, opened the door and the alarm went off!

Switched the alarm off by turning the ignition on. Tried locking and unlocking the car again with the remote and it eventually seemed to lock the car but again I couldn't unlock it. Again using the key did not turn the alarm off. Tried spare remote but no difference. Using the key to lock the car did not switch the alarm on.

Suspected maybe the remote battery needed replaced - but the remote has a Torx screw, and I didn't have a Torx screwdriver. Tried an "everything for a pound shop" and bought some Torx driver bits - the T10 was closest but slightly too small. Tried "real" (i.e more than a pound!) driver bits but the T10 was too big.

Q - does anybody what the actual size of bit you need to get the darn screw out?

PS - remote has been working OK today!

My guess is maybe they use a special size to keep people from opening it? As for my key fob, there arent any screws...dont know how to open it.

The alarm should have been deactivated with the key in the door. Since it seems like the same problem with both remotes, maybe a problem with the alarm itself. Id have to go to the dealer.

I can get my remote open with a T10 screwdriver but a T9 is a better fit.

Get yourself one of those cheap screwdrivers with various bits that are sold for mobile phone repairs.
