Hi all

I'm a proud new owner of a J reg 440si 1.8. he car is fantastic, heated seats and everything! Very nice on cold mornings!
There is a problem with it, when the engine is revved (is that even a word!?) over 2500 and the car is accelerating there is a loud rattling noise, its very high pitched, almost like a plastic bag is a very strong wind. Several local garages have said its the "Heat Shield" behind the engine, which is loose. One person said to just leave it, it's only noise and won't effect anything. Someone else said it just needs tightening, but they needed gas to do it. Someone else said it cannot be tightened, and needs replacing. Honestly I'm lost! I can find a large metal thing behind the engine which seems to be loose - which i'm sure shouldn't be. Everything in the engine conpartment must be pretty much solid and secure.
I'm seeing a Volvo service garage on Monday.

Just wondering if anyone knows what this is?
May be useful to tell Mr Mechanic when i get there
