Volvo corporate accepted the problems after I brought in to the dealer for what I firmly believed was the throttle problems with nothing lit on the dash, but because it idled so badly it just wasn't right and it is ready to stop anytime while you are slowing down. The upgrade does not take place until Mar 06 unless your codes on the dash shows ETS, Check Engine and I believe one other code, and it only showed after the dealer tried to check something, tore the car apart and could not get it back together, but since Volvo corporate accepted it they changed the whole ETS system, so if anyone out there has similar problems, it is suggested that you speak with the volvo dealer.

Another issue: Does anyone know if you hit the brakes quickly and feel it light click click click -light sound, will feel it more than being able to hear it, you can only hear it if you really pay attention to it. Any advice anyone? It doesn't happen all the time but a few times recently, thought I'd ask around.

Will check back tomorrow!

How suddenly and how hard were you hitting the brakes? Was the ground wet at all? Antilock brakes will create a pulsing / vibrating sensation in the pedal. It can be disconcerting for those who don't expect it. (I think there was actually a problem with this when ABS first came out.. people would get scared and let off the pedal instead of holding it down and letting the ABS do it's job)

Otherwise, my uneducated guess would be that something between (or on) your brake pads and rotors (that the pads bite onto when you brake) could be uneven and causing a vibration with each rotation? Would you say that the vibration slows as the car slows to a stop? Or, is it a rapid pulsing that stops before the car does?

Most likely it is the ABS breaks. If there is a problem your trac control light would come on. I had that program and the dealer had to change the ABS module. HOpe this helps

When you say 'light' does it mean 'spongy'...?

If there IS a 'spongy' feel, then have the mechanic bleed the air out of the brake lines.

:)
