Hello

First time using so hear we go I own a S40 year 2000 can you tell me how to replace the number plate bulbs as it is in the index of the hand book but cannot find any details.

Ps is it just me or do they blow bulbs for fun with this model

never had to change a plate bulb (tempts fat... lol) but my last MOT called for me to change all my indicators, that was fun :D lol

:beer: i had to do it a while ago. the most complicated method but never mind. remove the boot lit trim by the screw clips around it. then reach in the cavity inside and slide the bulb holders out. the bulbs are push fit so that's the fastest bit! then you have to replace the whole lot again! good luck!

also the plug the post don't forget the 18th march for the uk members first group meet.

Hi Andrew.

Phase I 40 series do tend to eat bulbs for some reason! Make sure you never touch the glass on the bulb with bare hands - natural oils from your skin "fry" in the heat when the bulb lights, creating a hot-spot & shortening the bulb's life - especially important with headlight bulbs, which create more heat.

I'm sure you can tackle the bulb replacement yourself, but if you need a hand I'll be in Bridport on 21st & 22nd, just shout!
