I Work across the street from a ford dealership, so last week I went over and checked out the new Mustang. It was mist green w/ a V6 and great rims.
Today I was at a gas station and a blue '05 mustang w/ a V8 and duel exhaust.
Sounded great for a factory exhaust system.

The pics in the car mag's don't do it justice.

I test drove a 05 GT,300 hp. Manual transmision of course. The car is a bullet. $ 32,000 Canadian. Very inexpensive for that kind of power. I like it.

They are fairly resonable here.22,000 to 25,000 for the GT is a good price for the GT here.Alot of people are starting to buy them because the price is pretty cheap.

I've had several Mustangs, including a 66 coupe, 67 GTA fastback, 70 convertible, 73 convertible, a couple of Mustang IIs (including a rare 74 Mach I), and 2 85s, one of them a GT.

I think the new Mustangs are the best looking car to wear the name since the 69-70 models. Ford really nailed the design this time.

Ok the next few comments I have are coming from the fact that I bought a first year Ford Focus......


Yes I do love the look of the mustang but if it's build quality is anything like my car you will see many of these mustangs in the shop rather than on the street. Little things piss me off about the car. Firstly a solid rear axle no matter how cool it was to have in the 60's is not the way to go on these cars. If it was a good idea the new Corvette Z06 would be running it also.

Secondly, although nice the car looks really cheap. You have to buy an $800 dash moulding to make the inside look half decent. Again on the same unfinished note, the mirrors should have been painted at least on the GT because that orange peel black plastic looks like crap.

Finally, the car can use some 19" rims, and a suspension drop of about 2". If with the previously mentioned combination the car would still have wheel gap. I know Ford does this to keep the costs down but offer the above as a sport package, I know I would opt for it.

As one of you said, yes it is the best looking Mustang since the 60's and they have hit the nail on the head, but let me tell you that my brother chose to get a S40 T5 AWD over the base mustang because it was more fun to drive and obviously more fuel efficient.

You're comparing a first year Focus to an '05 Mustang? That's like comparing the Viper to a Neon, oranges to apples, etc. I thought the main idea of the "new" Mustang was to commemorate the era of the badass Mustangs, while at the same time including the advantages of technology over the last 30 or so years. The solid rear end is as it's name would imply-solid. Reliable. I'm not really a Ford guy, but I have to say that the Mustang would be a welcome addition to any CAR guy's stable. :57:

Not to rain on your parade or anything but the ford focus is a price point car man. They are pretty much are built with expiration dates under the hood. We used to have a '99 escort. What a piece of crap that was. On the other hand I am a Ford guy and have owned 3 F-150 4x4's and love them. I wouldn't even look at buying another truck if wasn't a Ford.

Bottom line is if you are going to buy anything American don't buy any of the cheaper cars or you'll probably regret it. Hate to say it but Honda's and Toyota's rule when it comes to lower budget cars.

I think the new Mustangs are awesome looking and if I didn't just start a family, I would buy one in a heart beat. It would be a black GT with tan leather interior. With performance exhaust and some after market wheels and tires of course.

I like the new ones, but nothing on the face of the earth will ever top the one my dad had and raced. It was a 1969 BOSS 429, Maroon with black interior. That 429 Hemi was awsome. Now if I could only afford a 05 Mustang and could drop a full race 429 in it, my life would be complete.

I like the way the new mustang looks, but its build quality and power are nothing to compare to the new GTO.

I actually seriously considered buying the new mustang last summer and was quite desapointed with the interior built quality and material feel. The visibility is bad and seating not so comfortable with basic adjustment. I love the new outside look which really attracted me in the first place. The engine power offer at that price is awsome. No traction control though and suspension is also very basic. They understandably had to make some choices and for lost of Mustang fans the money should be were it belongs for this car.

I just whish they had an interior upgrade package to attract guys like me who cares about a bit of luxury in various aspect of a car. I just wanted a more upscale feel for a great classic... :thumbsup:

I think Ford should build a pretty much stripped version of the car w/ the V8...that way it would appeal even more to a younger audience who otherwise couldn't afford one. You know, manual crack windows, cheap cloth interior, 6 speed, V8...I'd drive it lol

i drove an 06 the other day... i was dissapointed. build quality was worse than on my 99 camaro (which was damn bad) and the performance was nice... but not what a GT should be... new camaro only 3 or 4 years off
