I have a 1997 Volvo S90 with approx 75000k miles. It will crank but will not start until after many cranks and long cranking times. I have no spark and no injector pulse. I have done a pinpoint test, replaced the RPM sensor and tested the coolant sensor. I have replaced the engine computer with a know working computer. I still have the same problem. Help, does anyone have any idea what could be causing this. Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful.

I had the same problem with my 98 S90 this am. The car had not been driven for about 2 weeks and would crank but not start. The starter seemed as though it was cranking without compression.

After about 4 long cranking attempts the engine finally stumbled and started. All is well now, but I would like to know what caused it so I can make preventitive repairs.

Any help out there?
