This question is really not a Volvo question, but is about my 2000 S80. I just had my windows tinted on my car Thursday and I"m not very happy with them. There is like spots in between the glass and tint, it's not water, it looks like it is just a dried up water spots. It looks like crap. Water spots all over. I called the tint shop and they told me that the spots would go away with time. I'm sorry... I've had cars tinted many times and these spots are not going anywhere. It's not just a few, but there are so many that it has a leopard look on my window. I just wanted you guys input. TIA!!

I had somewhat of the same issue, although it doesnt sound as bad as yours. I had a good amount of spots as well, but I had mine done in the summer. So when I got home I left the windows up in the sun all day. Most were gone by the end of the day, but a few spots were around for a couple days.

I would take it back in a couple days if the spots are still there.

just so you know, i have had many vechicles tinted. From 15% to full limo tint, in fact i had tinted probably 8 cars from my past. I can reasure you that this spotting problem is part of the drying phase... the first time i had this occur, i was mad at the tint guy but he reasured me. I have even had it soo bad the bubbles were like bean sized and i could never forsee them dissapearing. But in the end the tint alway cleared up crystal clear.. Also, an fyi... being winter it will take weeks and into months for the tint to totally shrink and clear up... typically winter tint jobs will do this, but in my experience the slower drying process leads to a better tint in the end. In summer the tint can even over shrink leaving light gaps (not cool)...
So rest asure, the tint will be fine... And hey remember, NO WINDEX or other Amonia based cleaners!! they will drastically sorten the life span of the tint as it dries it all out to a crisp... soap and water works fine, buff to dry... there are some "tint friendly" cleaners on the market also...also avoid dropping your windows for a month or so, (yes i am aware it is winter, but some forget that in the drive thru windows)...

hope this is helpful
