Hi:

Gave my wife an OEM CD changer for her 1996 850 for Xmas. The in-dash unit is set up to have a CD Changer, so I'm guessing the wiring should already be in there somewhere. Where the heck is the thing located? Where would I find the wiring connections? Are they somewhere in the trunk?

thanks :P

:cat: Is that all you gave your wife for Christmas? ;) Wow-the last of the great romantics!!

If she starts talking about Cereno de Bergarac-let me know.

Cheers :P

Is yours a sedan or a wagon?

If yours is a wagon, you'd need to work backwards and trace the wiring harness from under the 'cargo-bed'. Take care in the screws and put them back in tight to avoid rattles later. If it is already there, then you're in luck. If not, then you need to get the wireman to lay out a fresh cable right from the head unit in front to the back (or wherever you plan to place the CD changer). I believe if the car did not come with it originally, then you won't find it there.

For wiring, refer

I have a '96 850 R wagon w/ the 6 disk changer. If you haven't found it yet, it is in the back, driver's side under the plastic door. The lid flips up and the changer is bolted in that deep pocket.
