I just had a PREFORMANCE DECREASE message on my Volvo S70 2.4T (2001).
Does anyone know what that means and what to expect from mechanic in terms of price and time of repair?

Unfortunately it could be many things... But if you're handy with the tools, pop the hood and see of anything has come loose. Usually and especially the hoses (vaccuum) and so on.
