Hi, I am buying a 01 s40 but there is only one keyless entry remote and its broken! I've got two keys, and was hoping to get one or two of those combination remote/key things with the switchblade action. Do you know how much this might run me or if they are even available for the 01? Thanks!

Whatever else you do, talk to a dealer BEFORE you agree to buy the car - I've seen others quoted MANY hundreds of pounds by Volvo for a new set of keys & re-programming of the ECU to make them work. Whatever this is going to cost can be negotiated off of the price of the car perhaps!

I've got an '02 with combination/switchblade-type keys, so there's a strong chance that you could use them on an '01 if programmed-in properly by Volvo.

I agree. I bought a key because the person I bought my 2003 S40 from had one stolen in a burgalary. T :blush: he new key, remote and prgrming cost me R 3,500.00 (SA Rands)
