Hi ...I am a new member to this Forum.
My 1996 850 volvo has stopped directing heat to the passenger and driver side footwells.

the car has an eletronic climate control system. The heater/blower works ok, the AC is OK, infact everything works fine...... apart from heat being directed to the floor.

I'm guessing it's something to do with the floor/defrost damper motor.

Can anyone please give me guidance as to what could be the problem and how to fix it.

Kind Regards

Most likely a bad blend door motor.

I had this problem repaired two years ago. The rod that links the actuator to the flap broke. My Volvo dealer did not have the replacement assembly (of course you can not just replace the link rod) so he mixed up some epoxy, filled a paper straw, and shoved the two ends in it (all this per my dealer).

Welcome, and THANKS for sharing!

:)

(Don't you just love going-around-it repairs... Volvo may not recommend it, but if it works, why not, eh?)
