I own a 2001 S80 and my alarm is constantly going off for no reason. What can I do to solve this problem?

i have the same problem and the only workaround i've managed is the following: after taking the key out of the ignition when leaving your car, press the button behind the gearshift with a pic of a car and what looks like little soundwaves. press that button and the amber light on it will turn on, the instrument cluster will indicate something like 'reduced protection'.

im no expert, but my guess is that it disables an alarm sensor without completely turning it off. anyone else wanna chime in on this one? i'd love to find a permanent solution as well. .

To clarify, that button is used to dis-engage the
alarm temporary for towing, ferry rides....
stuff like that. I'm pretty sure when turned on there
is some sort of protection...to what degree I don’t know.
