[FONT=Times][SIZE=7] Hi there! I just bought a 1979 Volvo 264 GL 2.7 with A/T. I am having problems keeping it running, especially when it is cold. When it warms up it gets better, but the problem continues. It does not like to go over 25 MPH and often stops running completely and I have to restart it pretty often. It rough idles below 1,000 RPM.. often in the neighborhood of ~500 and the EGR light comes on.. and there are times when even several attempts to restart it fail.

This is why I don't like to drive it far. What could be causing the problem?

Any diagnostic suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.
