hey guys i got a 850 estate 2.0 20 valve is this just a standard engine as everything i have found for a 20 valve is either a t5 or an r version can anyone shed some light :460: :banana: :grouphug:

The difference is in the level of 'beasty' of the engines.

The 850 T5 produces 225 bhps at stock factory, while the 850 T5R gives 240 bhps. (Of course, newer editions of the R like the S60 R churns out like 250 bhps.)

Other differences are at the trimmings.

Typically, due to the characteristics of the drivers, most would equate between the 2 versions. :)

Hi Stuart, the 2 litre 20 valve is a standard engine insomuch as there were 2 of the 5 cylinder 2 litres produced. the 10 valve and the 20 valve. More hp and torque with the 20 valve and the better favoured engine. I have the 20 valve and find it plenty quick enough with enough pulling power though it does have to be pushed into it's higher rev band to get the best performance out of it. the faster 850s were badged with the T-turbo T5r and R and bigger engine sizes 2.5 litre up.
