Drives: 850 2l 10 valve
I have just bought a 2.0L 10 valve 850 which has started knocking, like it's timing is far too advanced but only occasionaly. Then yesterday it while at this, it dropped some oil out the filler cap and when I opened it, the rocker area was full of thick white somke,but none in the exhaust.

Try changing the oil and put a thinnner oil in and see what happens.
