I live in nice weather and i like a pretty smooth ride and I don't want to spend a fortune, but don't mind spending for a quality tire. Presently have a Japanese high performance brand that has a very bumpy ride, thanks.

Check here; http://www.tirerack.com/ Theres a ton of variables, and this is a great site. And if the bumpy ride bothers u, a softer tire will be better.

Im partial to Bridgestone, but they dont have what I want in my size, so I think Ill stay with Pirelli.

Like S60R, many would agree that it's a trial-and-error matter, and what-suits-you-may-not-suit-me manner. That's why you'll need to check on the kind of comfort/performance ride that you're after.

But fortunately, as far as performance of the tyres are concerned, we have the opinions and analysis of others as guides. :)

Good luck in your search.

I will not put anything but Michelin on my vehicles. I have the Hydroedge on my S 60 and on my daughters Camry. Don't skimp on tires, you'll regret it later. My buddy across the street put a less expensive tire Mastercraft on his '97 960 and he is sorry for doing it.

I would echo jks2's words. Afterall, those four rubbers are the only contact points for you to the ground. Better make sure they work!

I have 205-50-17 Avon Tech M550's. The ride is better than th  e 45's, and nothing rubs. Excellent tires, very resonable price, from Tire Rack.
