I've belonged to this forum for all of 5 minutes, but couldn't find an answer to my question using the search feature.

I just completed a bluetooth installation on BMW 5-series. My wife is jealous and wants me to do the same to her 2005 V50!

Has anyone done this, or if you had it done at the dealer, what did they charge for installation? If you did it yourself, is there a kit with installation instructions available from Volvo?

Thanks!

The reply is probably a bit late, but yes, there is a Bluetooth kit.

You can read about it on the Volvo Cars. com site.

Thanks, Erik. I saw the info at the Volvo website regarding the kit, but I was wondering how easy it would be to install it myself (my local dealer's service is pretty bad).

Aside from the physical installation, which I'm assuming involves removing the radio, plugging in some cables, etc., do you know if it requires any special diagnostic communication tools to reconfigure the audio system to accept the bluetooth input? I did my BMW myself and it was very easy, no special tools were required, and it only took about an hour.
