Hi, I am having some problems with my long light, it doesnt seem to work when I click the long light contact behind the steering. It says the ordinary sound click, and the blue light that indicates that long light should be on flashes but goes away, right away.
I checked all fuses in the outside box, and all of them seems to be fine, does anyone know what could cause this?.

Followup:
The ordinary light dosent work either, the only light that actually works is possition light. When I keep in the long light stick behind the steering then the long light is on, but when I release it stops.

Really need help on this one. Thanks in regard.

Hi gbj, hopefully you might find that there is actually nothing wong!

If the light switch in the '96/'97 model is the same as in the 2002 model, then in the "9 o'clock" (normal) position the dipped headlights and parking/side lights are on, you can flash the headlights but the main high beam will not stay on. Turn the switch clockwise one click ("10.30" position) and only the parking/side lights will be on. Turn it clockwise one last time to the "12 o'clock" position & the dipped headlights and parking/sidelights are on, you can flash the headlights AND the main high beam will now stay on if you pull the light lever all the way back & release it.

Unfortunately, Volvo did not fit "lights on" warning buzzers, so unless you remember to return the light switch to the 9 o'clock position, the lights will remain on without warning when you remove the key & leave the car.

Hi Black Beauty T4,

Thanks for your reply. I have checked that setting unfortunatly, and it's not that either. I am starting to think about if it could be a relay somewhere that is broken. I have checked even switched two relay's from the fusebox located by the engine right next to the airfilter and that didnt do any changes.
I dont know if it could have anything to do with the fusebox inside that car under the steeringwheel?
