Tonight it was foggy in our fair city and I went to wipe the mist off my window with the wipers and it was pretty dirty and messy, so I tried the washer fluid by pulling the wiper handle back towards me and nothing. The reservoir is full, so I not sure what the problem could be.

Any thoughts?

-Todd

Hey Todd.

With the engine not running and key in the ignition position, you should be able to hear the pump buzzing when you pull the lever on the column.

If the pump runs, locate the blockage by getting someone to pull lever on while you get under the bonnet and pull the pipework off the pump, T-pieces, and where they join onto the nozzle. Start at the pump first so that you can isolate the problem as electrical or blockage.

Also, if you wax / T-cut your car, the little black squirter nozzles on the bonnet get blocked, you can clear with a thin needle.

Stu.

Thanks Stu. And if the pump doesn't run? I don't hear it so that may be the problem.

test the pump with a multimeter an see if its getting anypower. there is a good possibilty that the pump may have died becaues i had the same problem on my 89 240 an it turned out the windsheild wiper fluid motor needed replacing

How did this turn out? I had this problem but I deturmined that it was pumping (since water came out of the hose prior to the sprayer), I stuck a thick needle in the underside of the sprayer, and a wad of green slime came out. Same with both sides, but after cleaning it out, only one sprayer will work. I tried a thin needle on the topside of the sprayer, has had no effect on it so far...

Phork,
You could try taking the spayer off, and soak in vinegar overnight.

Worked for me.
