Hello to everybody,

I have a question regarding parts for GDI engine which is in my V40. Does anybody know do parts from Mitsubishi fits to GDI engine that is used in Volvo? For example hydraulic stretcher (I am not sure that this is the right name for that part) from Mitsubishi is cca 100€ and from Volvo is cca 200€. I bought some part for service (90 000 km) and on every part is Made in Japan or Mitsubishi logo.

Hi Tom,

The only thing I know is that the GDI engine for a V40 is made by Mitsubishi. In the factory where the V40 was made in Holland, now they produce Mitsubishi's.
The GDI engine has a bad reputation in Europe because the fuel in Europe causes the engine to become dirty (too rich a mixture for combustion). A trick is to burn the dirt out at high RPM,s. If this really helps.... I don't know...
