I have a 1995 855 T5R with 185,000 miles. When the weather starts to turn cold, the "open door" chime does bot stop. Some times, if I hit a bump, it will turn off and sometimes start again. I can repeatedly open and close the door but with mixed results at best.

I desribed the problem to my Volvo tech and he suggested changing the iginition switch. I have done this twice and it is still happening. He is at a loss to know where to look next... can anybody please make the music stop! It is driving me CRAZY!

Im not very familiar with your model, but is there a switch at a door that might be the issue -if that makes sense- and not not the ignition itself? For example, if one of those sensors is bad at a door. Just a thought, hope it helps some

The door latch assembly is bad. The switch that controls it is built into the latch.
