Greetings. First time poster. Really looking forward to my V50 T5 AWD arrival!

Got the Sculptor 17x7 wheel option.
Comes with 205/50/17 tires.

I've been told by Tirerack.com that 215/45/17 would fit just fine,
with the diameter being slightly lower (which would help if anything).

I've asked Volvo service about making such a change. I can't get any
real answer of whether it is a problem, technically. True, they should
recommend what they recommend, so I can't blame them.

Short of reaching an engineer in the plant in Sweden, does anyone know whether
I can safely change from 205/50/17 to 215/45/17 on the 17x7 wheel?
This applies to V50 and S40 probably.

Thanks!

Hi Bassman,

The only thing that I see being an issue would be the milage and speed meters since the diameter of the tire is changing, going smaller will result in the more milage and higher speed readings that actual. The slight increase in forces resulting from the lower tire walls should not be of concern (insignificant). Other than that no issues...

Good luck!

:cat: Hi there. For what it is worth to you-look interior side of your fuel filler flap. Volvo list on that flap your various type size options.

I hope this helps

Cheers :P
