I all!

Has anyone ever had issues of tires loosing air slowly? My car is new (early august) and had only 30 miles when I bought it but I have no idea how long it has been on the lot.
2 weeks ago I noticed my rear right tire was low (half of were it should be) Then a week had past end I notice that it was low again. It seems to be loosing air very slowly. Has anyone had this problem? The tires appeared bran new so I don’t know if it’s a leek or if it is not well mounted on the rim.
I could use some input if anyone had a similar problem before I go to the dealer. I don't think the tires falls under warranty but someone told my there is warranties on new tires.

Greg.

Greg,
Look in the owners maual (grey booklet in glove box). My tires came with a warranty. I just went outside and checked mine. I have not had that problem though.

Yes, I have had the same problem with my 2004 XC70. The right front tire keeps losing air. We have a pump that works off the cigarette lighter and have chosen that "solution". We are about to change tires and hope that will be a non-issue with the next set.

Wayne,

I use the same kind of pump which works well for such fix. I always keep a pump like this in my trunk just in case of a flat tire so if I have a problem I can at least get to a garage.
I also estimated that I loose about a little less than 2lbs of pressure per day.
I wish I was in the same situation as you are but my tires are new so I can't really change them now.
I found that there is a warranty though with these Michelin tires but since I'm not sure whether it’s the tire or the mounting I'll have to go to the dealer first I think...

Greg.

I went to a Michelin retailer and had them check the car and indeed they did find a nail in my tire. They fixed the tire and it cost me $18 which is better than having to pay for a bran new tire.

They also insure me that the repair should last the life of the tires.
Can this be true?

It can be true, and alot will say its OK. Personally, I would still get a new tire. I would not want the plug to go at 100mph (even 50mph could be ugly), or on the twisties.

Chances are that a plug wont go bad. For a quick fix, we get them plugged on our company cars, but we still get the tire replaced when a garage can get it in.
