Hi, I've recently had my 125k service, and there was a leak in the Fuel injection gasket which meant I was on 3 cyclinders, and previous mechanics had just tightened the fuel mixture and accelerator cable to compensate.... I wondered why my miles per gallon was REALLY bad !!

Anyway, came beck from new garage I'm using and it runs like a dream. He said that it might run a little leanm now as it's back to factory settings and I was used to driving a heavy mixture.

Anyway, there's one problem. The initial fast idle that used to happen in the mornings, especially cold mornings doesn't happen anymore, and it is very, very easy to stall. Before I go back to the mecahnic, is there anything that I should check out. The car used to start at 740rpm, then the fast idle would kick in at 1500 rpm for a few minutes and then calm down to the nromal 750 and it would be warmed up and stable. This no longer happens.... any ideas?

Thanks,
Peter.

Hi, Yes the throttle body was cleaned as part of this process. Where is the coolant sensor. I was thinking about the idle motor on the side of the throttle body, I checked to see if there were any loose wires. There were, I secured them, but it made no difference. Any help, much appreciated... Peter.
