Hey
my 84 760 GLE has a bad idle issue it idles as if someone is putting thier foot on the gas and taking it off again ive spoken to a friend and he sugested something about a heat choke or heat pipes any sugestions as to what i can do to fix this issue Dale. |

Try cleaning the throttle body. Check the air mass meter as well.

Hey,
How Do I Clean The Throttle Body Ive Heard That Its A Complex Job Is It Worth my Mechanic Doing That or is it easy enuff for myself to do :) i wasnt aware that the 760 GLE had a air mass meter isnt that what goes between the airbox and the pipe that conects to the engine if so there aint one there was it models after the 84 mabye that had a AMM or is my car missing it LOL\ the car was bpought as is where is so yeah its very confusing as i was told it was fine but oviously it isnt LOL Cheers Guys Dale. |

I beleive you should have a mass meter.It should mount in the air filter lid.
Look for a plug by the air filter box.I believe it has like 8 or 10 wires in it. The throttle body is easy to clean.Remove the hose.Then remove the rod to the throttle body.Then remove the 3 nuts holding it on.Then clean it.I would also clean the idle motor that is located under the intake.It is a cylinder looking thing with 2 hoses going to it and 1 plug. |
