I need some technical assistance please.
2.3 cis (740) into a 940 2.0 turbo ? Sorry to post a question before an answer but I am uncertain about this one. I have a 740 saloon with wonderful engine 113k and the dodgy speedo and fuel guage, not to mention headlining ! And a fine 940 seven seater with 195k and tired turbo.Mean time using my 240 estate to cart the family about. Any thoughts much appreciated.

It should work.If it is a Non turbo engine going into a turbo car you will also have to swap the Cam shaft for it to work correctly.

The blocks are almost identicle.
You will have to swap the head and then you will be able to do it.

My buddy used a B21 CIS 240 block with a B230 head and dropped it into his 1991 740 turbo and it ran great.

I beleive you will need to use the headgasket for the B230 engine.
