i've bought a second volvo, this one's a 760 turbo...the paint job isn't as great, but the engine works great. my first volvo, a 740 (see "trying to start a dead volvo") is going to be used for parts, and then sold for its body, since its in GREAT shape. its a real beauty. i'll have my 760 on the road by this weekend, all it needs is a brake job. parts have been ordered, and they're on their way. i can't wait.

****, with all that i forgot the main thing i wanted to ask. the 760 runs, and when i rev the engine, the turbo needle moves, but doesn't go into the yellow area (half the gauge is black, the other half is yellow)...what does this mean? is my turbo faulty? how high should the engine ahve to be reving for the needle to go into the yellow? i had mine at 2-3k rpm and there was just slight movement.

You usually won't see the needle move much till you drive it.

There needs to be a load on it to get it to boost good.

well, i've finally started to fix my 760. it needs a brake job; calipers, flex lines and rotors. the front rotors came off no problem, but i'm not sure how to get the bearings out of them. furthermore, i don't know how to remove the rear rotor. it looks like you need a special tool, but i'm no expert. the weather up here in my part of canada is cooling off quickly, and my garage isn't insulated, so i have to hurry up and fix this soon.

The bearings should just fall out.The rear one you wil have to remove the seal.

Or do you have 2 peice rotors?

The rear ones should come off once you remove the caliper and the 10mm bolt holding it to the axle.

Did you say you're gonna part out one of those? I'm looking for a distributor for a B230F non-turbo. Is that anything you have?

1) all rotors came off super easy, no messing with bearings or anything

2) i have a 230BT engine, they're both turbos. a distributor shouldn't be hard to find though. check the web
