I have a constant rattle coming from the engine bay. It is not the engine and appears not to be the clutch/gearbox. You can hear it more from inside the car and is clearly audible from behind the glovebox. Definately not the heater fan as it is somewhere around the engine or ancilliaries. It stops when the ignition is turned off and always starts again when the engine runs. Now a gentleman who earns his living working on cars has looked and is certain it's not the engine or transmission and has checked all the other prime suspects, belts, alternator etc, but thinks its a minor peripheral part ie a valve or servo etc. Now my question is can anyone shed some light on this?

Make sure the heat sheild on the exhaust pipe isn't rattling.
