Volvo claim 136 mph top speed with manual transmission - much higher than the speed limit on most public roads in Europe e.g. 74.56 mph on Spanish motorways.

A better measure of the engine's capabilities is probably 0 - 60 mph time or the standing quarter mile time.

In skilled hands with a dry road 0 - 60 mph should take around 8 seconds, I am not sure what the standing quarter mile time would be for a stock (unmodified) model.

Remember, this model has a low pressure turbo fitted, not a hpt.

Wishing you safe & happy motoring!

Can a V40 be fitted with a HPT? Could the rest of the car handle it? What would a mod like this cost? DA

Available as standard, not a mod. It's called a T4 - see http://www.parkers.co.uk/choosing/carrevie...x?model_id=1064 - gives at least an extra 27 kW (37 bhp) & torque rises by 60 Nm (44.25 Lb Ft) over the 2.0T.

In UK the favourite mod to T4s is chipping & it seems 235 bhp is easily achievable even without other complimentary mods like air filter, exhaust/cat, etc.
