Hi, I bought my Volvo S40 T5 a little over a year ago. I commute very far to work, and i have put in about 30000 miles onto the car. I've recently been experiencing this loud noise coming from the car, especially when I'm on the freeway. I had actually taken the car in for service and for the recall improvement a week ago. It was for a different problem that was fixed during the maintenance.

But there is still this noice that I'm hearing from the car. I think it is the Turbo that is making the noise every time I speed up. It's is quiet when i'm on surface streets, but on the freeway, the noise is becoming more noticeable.

Does anyone know about this? and how I should get this serviced?

Thanks,

Matt

It might be the turbo.

Are you sure it is not the tires?

I've checked the tires, they seem pretty good still.

If the problem is from the turbo, how do I go about fixing it? Can I get that replaced?

If the car is still under warranty have the dealer fix it.
Drive with the shop foreman and make him listen to the noise.
