:) Hello to all. I have a 1988 740 Turbo,that will not fire on 1 & 4.
The basics have been checked or replaced such as ing wires,dist cap rotor,plugs and fuel system. the compression is even between 70-90 on all four. The ballist resistor for the injectionn has been taken off cleaned and reinstalled,the mass airflow sensor has been changed with a known working one.The spark is stong at the cap,the plugs are new Bosh platnum. I am leaning tword the computer being the problem however, any sugestions would be greatly appricated. This is an awesome site, I am glad to have found it. Thank you to all in advance.

Well First Off youve checked the basics thats a start u have no idea how many of my mates ring me up with volvo probs without first checking the basics the last 1 i had to do was my mate who has a 850 Waggon it wasnt fireing on the number 2 Spark lead all it was was that the cable had ridden up right off the dizzy small prob but could had been fixed quicker had he had checked the basics first

umm i would lean towards mabye try replacing the leads umm but then again it could be the computer the balast resistor will not stop it from fireing AFAIK as that only controls your ignition to turn the starter mainly

try replacing your leads failing that mabye try replacing the computer

jsut another idea u can try
