hello

i took my car to autozone and they told me i have error code P0705. I think this translates to T"rans Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction". Does anyone have any insight on what this means, and what I can do to fix it. While at autozone they told me my alternator was at 13.3, when it should be around 14.5. can anyone confirm this range?

I have a 1997 Volvo 850. The Check Engine light is on. and the Service light stays on for about 3mins. Also, the orange break lights light comes on as well, but so i've read it could be because of different bulbs. ill have to check that one out.

Thanks in advance.

paul

You might need the PNP replaced on your car first.

Could be !!! PNP= Park neutral position sensor.
Also a VERY slim chance the switch in the console is bad.

you know. the lights for the center shifter went out a few weeks ago. they since been fixed, but is this PNP sensor something I can replace myself? how does it cost for a new sensor?

With some times yes you can replace it your self.

Look under the hood where the cable goes to the transmission. There is a peice under the cable with wires coming out. That is the PNP switch.

Im not really sure how much the sensor is.

The shifter cable is located almost under the battery tray. There is the cable and it goes to an arm then connects to the transmission.
