Hi everyone!
just go in today on your forum and noted alot of poeple browse over it. I'd like to know if anyone had a similar problem on the radiator. yesterday my radiator pipe that leads to the coolant, cracked and broke off from the main body and a brand new radiator would cost Php 22,000.00 or US$ 400.00. i noticed that it is made of plastic and so i "expoyed" the pipe to main and is currently working. but to buy a new radiator is very expensive so i was wondering if anyone would have an alternative way of fixing it? A friend of mine had the same problem 3 weeks ago in a BMW 540 and finally he had to invest 2000 US$ in the original spare part, He didnt find any alternative, Sorry and good luck.

Tell me if you find something alternative Regards Claudio [right][snapback]791[/snapback][/right] Hi Claudio, I did find an alternative: first i met a friend who uses a honda crv with a plastic type radiator. same problem the tube leading to the coolant broke so he "expoyed" the area using metal type and it has been working ofr three years! The other alternative, i found a supplier of volvo radiators, nissen and it costs me half the price, through the internet. it's exaclty the part execept the name volvo on it. so the alternative action was the latter, i bought the aftermath and works superbly well. Most of the time the best repair is to replace it.

If you are talking about the plastic section at the top of the radiator, there may be a solution. In Malaysia there are radiator specialist who can fashion the section out of copper and paint it black. This was done for my Toyota Estima 90 model a few years back and has not leaked in the next 2 years that I had the car.
