I recently bought a 1991 Volvo 740 Turbo! I bought it from my uncle. He replaced the motor for the sunroof with a crank. I found out that when I turn it to the right it will go up fine and down. When I turn it to the left to open the sunroof it always gets off track! I have to push the right side in very hard and then pull it back! All of the springs and everything are off and when I turn it to the right the back part of the roof with open but the ceiling wont lift up because the springs arent in! I don't mind this! I just want to be able to open my sunroof with ease and without the top getting a little scraped sometimes! Please Help!

One of the cables might be bad and need to be replaced.

The cables? You can see the cables when you open the sunroof right? Hopefully this will be it!

Cables are what the handle moves to open the sunroof.


The bad news to replace them you will need to remove the headliner and then the entire sunroof assembly out of the car to install the new cables.
