hi , to every 740 driver out there , ive been driving volvos now for well over 20 years (yes im quit an old codger)
Im trying to find the answer to a seemigly common problem the fuel guage doesnt work properly , i was wondering if any of you guys had the same problem and if so how do you fix it? |

The fuel sending unit is the most likely cause.Rarely does the guage go bad.

Sorry to dig this back up, but I was looking to purchase a 1993 940 (non turbo) and the current owner says that the gas gauge does not work. I'm assuming its that $140 fuel sending unit. If so, how difficult is this to install? Do I need to drain the gas tank? Drop the tank all together? Any input would be appreciated :)
