hi to all
I'm new to this so hope I get it right. I,ve just bought a 1994 850 T5 it goes very well but when I let my foot off the accelerator the revs take a while to drop down I don't know if this is a common problem or not but apart from this the car seems fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If it is manual trans then that is normal for some reason.

Cleaning the throttle body is something that is recommended. If it's not too filthy, it can be done quite easily with some brake cleaner sprayed onto a rag--just wipe clean. If it's filthy and sticky, it's time to take it apart and soak it in some cleaning solution overnight. Then just wipe it clean, and reinstall.

It's probably not the problem, but it's a worthy maintenance procedure that *should* be done anyways. And if it improves your throttle response, then it's win-win!
