Hey friends, I have looked and looked but cannot find what I want.
I have a '94 850. The ABS light is coming on.

This page:
http://www.volvospeed.com/CheckEngine.php
tells me enough to read the codes, for various sockets.

Since I have my ABS light on, I read the A3 socket and got 141 142 143 144.

This page:
http://www.rybitwa.neostrada.pl/volfoult.htm
from a helpful guy in Poland, gives me lots of fault codes, but does not relate them to the socket. It lists 121 122 123 124 as ABS codes, (faulty sensor for various wheels) but no other codes. ??

This page:
http://www.troublecodes.net/Volvo/
is often cited as THE place to look for fault code info, but it apparently gives codes only for the fuel system, which is socket A2.

Anyone have the complete list of A3 (ABS) codes?
Or, can anyone tell me what 141 142 143 144 mean?

Thanks
-Cheeso

141=faulty pedal sensor,short circuit to ground or supply.

142=faulty brake ligth switch, open or short circuit.

143=control module fault.

144=brake discs have been overheated.

I have a cheater book that has them all.I don't have a scanner for the computer or I would scann them adn make a post with all of them.

Whoa, you guys are fast! thanks for the info.
I didn't see how to get the data, had scanned volvospeed.com but didn't find it.

Coincidentally I signed up for alldatadiy.com to get TSBs on the car, and they also have the trouble codes.

Looks a little suspiscious to have all those codes at once, the overheated pads seems unlikely. I am no racer, I don't drive on severe hills, there are no dragging calipers, etc etc. I reset them and we'll see if they come back on.

Following up on this old thread, there was a dragging pad. Seems the last repair used non-OEM rotors and pads and they are not the same fit. The pedal sensor was also bad. I decided to live with the dragging pad, and replace the pedal sensor.

Trust those codes!

Does it affect braking performance?
Does the ABS light still turn on?

Alternatively, you could visit the scrap yards for the original ones. Trust me, after a little brushing with a steel wool, even the most corroded and rusted looking rotors will look new. What's more important is the thickness of the rotors. It's written on the 'hat' (outside) of the rotors, the minimum recommended thickness. A friend of mine, just got a pair of the local scrap yard for just RM70. New one would be RM160 each, that's RM320 a pair. And based on the thickness, it should last him another year or so... :)
