Follow up ----- :)

I took delivery on my beautiful C30 T5 brilliant blue, yesterday in Peoria, IL. It sure has a lot of zip and I love the control panel (much easier to do than my V40) and a better ride than my V40.

The radio and cruise control on the steering wheel are a real safety factor.

I bought it last December for overseas delivery at Goteborg. My daughter and SIL took delivery just before Christmas and spent the next 10 days visiting cousins in Sweden. They turned the car in and flew home. The car was load on the ship, Faust, and we were able to trace its voyage on the Internet. The car was unloaded in Baltimore Jan. 29 and was delivered in Peoria on Feb. 6.

With overseas delivery, Volvo gives 2 round-trip airfares for taking delivery over there. A great deal.

I'll try to write more as I get acquainted with my new C30.

Aside: when I went into my insurance place to add to my car policy, they didn't have the C30 in their database yet. It is so new US.

Focus related doesn't bother me. We always had great cars from Ford when we farmed.

I've read about these overseas deliveries.

Do you save $$ doing it this way or does the trip expense even with the free airfare make it about the same....or more?

Either way, sounds like a great experience!

I figure I saved a little over $2500 (compared to what the dealer offered and what the overseas price was) not including the 2 round trip airfares.

This is the 3rd car the family has taken delivery in Sweden, and the factory people there are more than accommodating.

Did I mention that the first night in Sweden Volvo reserves and pays for a room at the Radisson? Another plus - when the plane from Stockholm was 1 1/2 hours late the factory office stayed open past 5:00 pm -- their normal closing.

WOW, You saved $2500 with the shipping, ect all totaled?

If so, sounds like a no brainer and nice vacation.

I just love my C30. While I was waiting for it to come in, I was feeling a little bothered that a Focus ST has the same motor. My past experiences from the Focus is even worse than disappointing. Granted they were rental cars (2 occasions), and those cars rode horribly and slowly. However, I remembered Ford is built better and is more revered in the European markets than they are here. I have a friend in Serbia driving a Fiesta Diesel, and that's just awesome. This car really scoots, but is by far the most comfortable sporty car I have ever driven/ridden in my life. I still seem to be the only one in my area driving one, and I've had it since the end of October 2007.

Well, The C30 is here in the US midwest and I really like it.
I thought I had ordered sunblinds, but they didn't arrive.... So I purchased them in an after market place.

Does anyone know how I am to install the 4 clips on the back window to hold the sun blind.

The side ones just popped into place
