hi I'm new to this so pls bear with me I have just bought an 850 T5 estate and the only problem I have is the drivers side footwell light wont go off. I know it's only a minor problem but it's very annoying does anyone have any thoughts on this

Could be a bad door lock assembly.

Is that the only light to stay on? Strange, with bad doorswitch it should light up al the interior. Isn't the light on the other side broken? In that case you need to repair that light and indeed check the pin that makes contact to your door, perhaps this got stuck somehow with dirt...
Sometimes the interior switch breaks down, can't image that this is the case though... |

If the individial door lock assembly goes bad it can keep only the one side footwell lamp on.And if one of the back door lock assembly's go bad it can also keep the little red door safety light for that door lit all the time.
Most 850's don't have the buttom in the door jam.The system is part of the door lock assembly. |

There you have a point.... you're right!
By the way: Until 1994 there was this pin in the door which could get stucked with dirt and even it's own rubber cover. The later vehicles have a microswitch build-in to the doorlock, which cannot be replaced without replacing the entire lock... unfortunately. :thumbsup: |

1) So THAT's why the bad door red-light is always on.... Hmmmm... 2) So THERE's where the control for the lights are.... Hmmmm... :haha: Thanks for the info, Tech and denkweb! |
