I recently fitted a complete BSR sports exhaust system with a 3" downpipe to my V40 T4. The car seems to run ok, but there is sometimes a popping noise in the exhaust which I assume is unburnt fuel igniting. Does this mean there is a problem with the car, or is this normal? Could it damage the Cat?

Hi
If you only get the popping on overun then it is 99.9% caused by an air leak at one of the exhaust joints.
It does not have to be a big leak to cause the problem.
I would check each joint and use some hi temp exhaust sealant on each joint when installing.
I have been looking at the BSR system for my T4. What are your overall thoughts on it? Worth the money? What sort of improvements have you seen?
