Hi folks, finaly got round to changing the front tyres today, had a pair of Avon ZV3's fitted and finaly the car drives correctly at all speeds (drivers side front used to vibrate very badly at 60mph +, suspect the last owner had run it with very low pressur for some time)
Any how just checked the pressures the garage set them to which is 29PSI. I know volvo recommends around 32PSI on its OEM tyres, but i also know different manufaturers can set different pressures depending on the exact tyre and car. Anyone know for sure if 29 is the right one, or should i add a bit more wind :) oh yes, they are 185/65/15 88H |

Me I always run 32 to 35 in all my tires.I always have good wear as well.

Though I refer to the specs at the petrol tank lid, i normally put a little more in - simple love the 'light' feeling.
Yeah, I know it's not healthy for tyre wear and at somepoint, may become hazardous if not enough traction results from the over-inflation, but hey... :) |

well it pays to ask!
sent an email to Avon tech support on Sunday and got an answer today :) The pressures for the ZV3 are 32F 28R, ie same as volvo OEMs, which means my new tyres were supplied under pressure and probably explanes the reduced fuel consumption since they went on. Show the best person to trust is usualy yourelf.... or tech of course :thumbsup: |
