Hey.

I have the SC-802 Radio/Tape in my car. :P

On backside there is an option for a CD Changer. ( a pin-connection)
Maybe I want to connect my Car-Pc or a Mp3 player.......

Do anyone have a pin-connection diagram for "line in" ??

I can't find anything on the net !!! :460: UPDATED PLEASE LOOK AT #7

If the 802 is anything like the 805 then it was orignally manufactured by Alpine.
You can buy a converter that will allow *some* other alpine components to be connected. AS LONG AS THOSE COMPONENTS ARE ALPINE "M-BUS".

So you can fix a CHA-630 which is a six disc M-BUS cd changer.

The newer MP3 CHA-634,which uses AI-NET IS NOT compatible with this head unit.

The major problem is that these days people don't send the audio from the changer
to the head unit using RCA leads anymore. The digitally encode the audio and send
it down a specialised lead. None of the digital encoding schemes are compatible
with each other. The volvo has a really nice head unit - but nothing it seems
wants to talk to it.

None of the 'bodge' leads are leads any more they all mave small chips in to do the translation.

So I still haven't worked out what I'm going to put in my car yet, becuase I too want MP3 playback. Pref. without using a readio transmitter.

personally I think it all sucks, from an inter-op point of view.

If you do find anything let us know back here please.

Now I am trying to build a converter that will send a signal to car radio, so it will "open" for Line-In and allow the Mp3 to play... !!!

A very Cheap but not very satisfactory solution to this problem can be found here.

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...oduct_uid=75633

Also a similar unit in black can be purchased from Maplin.

Adds a lot of noise & hiss unfortunately.

Has anyone made any progress in fitting a hard wired adapter?

After reading some post on the web, regarding connecting a MP3 to a Volvo radio SC816.. in a very diffrent way... Using the cassette tape install.
