Hi guys,

I am still considering a replacement car for my Wifes 940 (I would use it as my car). Here is the car I am considering, and I would like your opinions on it. I am setting up a time to see the car probably this week. Please give a few specifics if you can, I am not familiar with FWD Volvos at all.

-Thanks, Ken

Looks good on paper... :)

But please give attention to the three things that the seller raised at the end of the writeup.

The car thus far, definitely deserves a visit. And while you are there, also check out the General Volvo Non-Model Specific Discussion section, and read http://www.volvo-forums.com/t3118-things-t...g-a-new-car.htm which I believe will be able to guide you well.

Good Luck!

Certainly I am curious about how often/long the ABS light comes on. The other two items I can judge for myself. The other thing that concerns me is he says that he just had the AC filled. Well, you don't fill an AC system unless it leaks. I will have to read the reciept to see if anything was repaired, or if someone just topped off the system without repairing anything so that he could sell the car with the AC blowing cold and leave the buyer with a big repair bill next summer when all the freon leaks out again... How are the Evaporator cores in these cars? Problematic? That would be my biggest AC concern.

Any other input would of course still be GREATLY appreciated!

That ABS light could be the ABS sensors on the wheels or could be the module itself... some dollars. You are doing your homework which most people don't do. It is a Non-turbo 20 valve engine, I do not know of many problems with those drivetrains.
Good luck hope it works out for you.
