Hello;
How do you replace front passenger and driver turn signal/parking light bulb on a 2001 S60. Do you have to take out the headlight?. I can barely get my hand in their to get any leverage. Talk about tight!!! ouch.

It is a bit tight but you just rotate the holder about 1/4 of a turn, they can be difficult if the rubber seal has stuck to the unit but it should move.

Ever since I replaced both bulb holders I've not had to replace any indicator bulbs so not had them out for a while (around 2 years now I think) - but I think I found it easier to remove the connector before trying to turn and remove the bulb holder.

OK, Thanks again guys. I'll try removing the blue washer cap first then headlight cap. I might wait till the warmer weather so the rubber loosens up. Luckily the flasher element works, just not the parking light portion of the bulb. I'd hate to remove the hole headlight.

Cheers

If you look down the side of the washer bottle you'll see a screw, if you undo the screw you can remove this top part of the filler bottle to help with access to the indicators.

When you say parking bulb, do you mean the side light?

If you just need to replace the side light - it's located under the cover of the dip beam bulb.
If you remove the cover you'll see it just to the side of the main bulb and the holder just pulls straight out - as does the little spade type 5W bulb.

The side light bulbs burn out quite frequently and I replaced mine with LED bulbs recently in the hope that they last longer.

Thanks Volvo Virgin & Yuri. Perfect advice. I got it changed. I also found that I'm missing clips for the computer cover on the passenger side. It was much easier when I removed the cover and washer bottle extension.
