Drives: 1986 740 gle
I have a used 1986 740 gle. Does this transmission have shift controls comparable to same year domestic rwd vehicles. I know it has a throttle downshift cable is there a vacuum modulater and governor shift controls. Also what are considered normal part throttle upshift speeds. This car shifts out of low at a very low speed and accleration is real sluggish. Manually shifting the car indicates that all gears are present.

Make sure the kick down cable is adjusted properly and not siezed.
