.so why add a device to a car that REALLY isnt needed?  Come on people surely there are more things to moan about.

Please find me a car, even a dirt cheap one that does not have a trunk release button. They are an ultra handy feature. You must not have kids or yours are still young.

You pick up kid from lets say his hockey game and he is lugging his heavy sack of gear. Push button, kid throws gear in trunk without having to set bag down in a pool of wet dirts melting snow etc.

Yes we do have more to moan about. read my thread called 1 year review.

Ergonomically these are the poorest engineered cars on the road. I can say only 2 good things about my Volvo, Ultra comfortable seats and Fantastic fuel economy.

Maybe you have the button on the console in front of the gear shift pressed. It locks the trunk in case you are leaving your car for valet parking. The valet key will not allow the driver to press that button to unlock the trunk. Only an owner's key has rights to turn off the trunk lock feature with that button.

This has nothing to do with it. What most of us want is a simple trunk release button on the dash or somewhere, like every other car on earth :)

I dont get this one either, or not opening when the engine is on. I could see if the car was moving, but with all the electronics in this car they wont let it open when the engine is on? COME ON!!!. Im sure an engineer has a good answer, but WTF???

OK, in my 01 T5, I can open the trunk (Even while the car is running) if i press the trunk button on the key fob (twice, of course)
