Have any you guys out there ever experienced your volvo steering being very tight. I checked the power steering and it was full. But the steering seems to be a little tighter than it should be. Any experiences are explanations.

So knowone else experienced steering issues. I only notice the tightness when driving down streets. Not on the freeway.

my 1986 740gle had a steering roughness/tightness/poor return that was caused by the steering column intermediate shaft u joint being frozen with rust dirt dried grease, the solution was to remove this shaft apply lots of penetrating oil and working the joint until it functioned freely. This was after I flushed the system and changed the steering rack, checking the strut plates and ball joints with the tie rods disconnected and scratching my head. Since the shaft and u joint are expensive and the u joint appears unserviceable I left it at that. I read in one volvo forum that rebuilding the pump and stretching the pressure relief spring slightly would increase the pumps output pressure giving more boost to the steering
