:alien: High guys, great forum. I just got a used V70 and the stereo just says off. Got the code from the dealer but cant enter it cause it just says off. I let it sit with the stereo saying off for 2 hours with the key in and set to 1 but no luck. any ideas to how to crank this baby. Thank you in advance.

It is a waiting game you have to wait till it says code.Sometimes it will take 2 hrs and sometimes it could take up to 4 hrs.

Thanks Tech, let me say Im sorry for posting this in the wrong area. Think Ill try the 4 hour wait and hope the battery holds. :crying:

It should hold up the only power being pulled is for the radio.Just keep checking on it and when it says code it is done.
But when you put the code in if it shows EEE stop there and have the dealer get the code for the radio off of the serial numbers from the radio not the Vin from the car.

My car was readign code at first after I replaced my battery. Thinking I knew it all, I tried a few random codes, which I suppose locked the thing up and now it just reads "OFF"

Its been like this for nearly two weeks. I've unplugged the radio completely, but no luck still. I took off the black battery terminal (the red is too tight for me and I can't find my wrench!) and again no luck.

Any suggestions?

Follow instructions about leave key in the Accessories position for atleast 2 hours and watch for it to say code.When it says code it is ready.

If you need the code go to your local dealer with your regristration for the vehicle and they will give it to you.

Make sure the radio is on when you leave the key on.
