Drives: 1989 volvo 740 turbo
My front shock absorbers are bad so i am trying to replace them. However, i am having a lot of trouble removing the steering arm from the steering rod. I tried using a puller but it just wont stay on after a certain amount of pressure. I even tried beating the bolt out with a hammer even though it could potentially damage the threads. Even beating on the bolt does not phase it. It won't move a millimeter. Any ideas.

You are trying to get the outer tie rod from the hub?

If so hit the hub part where the bolt goes through.It should come loose after a few good hits.
